Keto smoked salmon and cream cheese lettuce wraps are really simple. They work great when you need to use up one of the ingredients because the exact amounts given in this recipe are just for show. In reality, you could sit with a tub of cream cheese, a lettuce and some smoked salmon and just cut, dip and roll till you finish one.
There’s just something about smoked salmon and cream cheese that works well together, and they appear together in many recipes. This is one of the simplest ones.
Smoked salmon is delicious, but it takes a while to smoke it; hence the price tag it comes with. You could possibly switch it out with the much cheaper tinned tuna. It wouldn’t taste the same but would make an okay starter regardless.

I used iceberg lettuce in the photographs because it’s cheap, easy to acquire, and I like it. Some people find it a bit watery. In all honesty, the lettuce type really doesn’t matter. Every lettuce will wrap, and this is finger food. You will need to clean up afterwards regardless.

I recommend adding it in for the morning but, as always, it’s where you need it!
For Atkins’ this starter/snack has slightly more protein than fat with minimal total carbs. You could have a normal day of Atkins’ and add it in if you feel a little peckish sometime.
However, for inspiration how about starting with Keto Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Lettuce Wraps followed by Zero Carb Simple Sirloin Steak, (because one can never have too many steaks!) with a side of Keto Garlic Butter Mushrooms. A filling dinner for only 7.2g of total carbs.

- 80 g smoked salmon
- 2 tbsp cream cheese
- 100 g lettuce (whatever kind you like best)
- The size of the lettuce leaves aren't important but they should be left whole for wrapping.
- Cut a little of the smoked salmon and a little of the cream cheese and place in the centre of a lettuce leaf.
- Wrap the lettuce leaf up with the salmon and cream cheese in the centre.

The school year finished a couple of weeks ago. It’s been a challenging year with lockdowns, teacher’s strikes, mask-wearing, covid rules and regulations of all sorts, but at least both kids learned a few more things than not.
The summer school, called ‘skolasajf’, started this week. ‘Skola’ is school, ‘sajf’ is Summer. We enrolled both of the kids. This is Taran’s first year, whereas Isla is an old hand at it. Sometimes, I feel like my kids are always in school, but with Malta being so hot in Summer, there are limited things for the kids to do during the day. While other English people might disagree with me, there are really only so many times you can go to the beach. Summer school is excellent because they have something to do during the day which doesn’t bankrupt mummy and daddy in the process. And, another hugely important thing, primarily because of all the lockdowns, is they get to see their friends regularly.
Taran just had his very last childhood injection this week, and we are now done until he is 14. One parenting job complete! Let’s relax a bit!
We also told him his birthday was at the end of this month, the 25th to be exact. For a 3-year-old, this seems to translate into ‘right now’! And by the end of the day, we wish we hadn’t said anything. Currently, he wants a superhero, an insect and a dinosaur cake. We need to narrow it down or we will be swimming in cakes.
